Google fellows defend MapReduce

Even though Google has been using MapReduce to build over 10,000 applications since 2003—proving to Google its worthiness, there are others that call MapReduce a step backwards. In response to papers published against MapReduce, two Google fellows have updated a paper published in the Communications of the ACM in which they defend the virtues of MapReduce, a software framework to support distributed computing on large data sets on clusters of computers.
