MedAptus goes mobile with McObject's Perst Database on BlackBerry Smartphones

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

McObject, with its open source and object-oriented embedded database system for Java ME has now been incorporated as an important piece in the Professional Intelligent Charge Capture software by MedAptus, a leader in healthcare charge capture technologies. This software for BlackBerry smartphones manages charges, patient demographics, handles scheduling, and application configuration data, improving doctors’ mobile productivity. It also synchronizes bi-directionally with a central Microsoft SQL Server.

MedAptus chose McObject’s Perst Lite because it offered, “the right combination of high performance, reasonable cost, a proven track record in mobile devices and availability of support.” Along with features including an intuitive application programming interface (API), support for multiple index types and the ability to perform ad hoc queries.
