Sybase Analytical Database to Provide Text Search of Unstructured Formats

Sybase, Inc. has just announced that Sybase IQ 15.2 is scheduled to be generally available on June 11, 2010. Sybase IQ 15.2 is a column-based analytical database system with:

  • Text Search and Analysis – allowing users to search for important data in unstructured formats such as e-mail and file systems, and retrieve relevant documents through scoring the frequency of a searched on word or phrase
  • Query Federation – providing immediate access to information previously unavailable due to data movement or restrictions, and without moving or copying it to a data warehouse
  • Web-Enabled Analytics – supporting Web 2.0 development tool languages for quick and easy development and testing of prototype models
  • Real-Time Loading – making information available immediately for analysis.
  • And Low Total Cost of Ownership – allowing critical business analysis and reporting previously inhibited by cost
