LiteSpeed for SQL Server Reduces Backup Sizes

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

Quest’s patent-pending fast compression can aid in SQL Server backup performance, reducing the backup footprint and enabling IT to cut their storage costs. LiteSpeed also reduces backup times, improves database recoverability, and has the ability to manage the complete backup process by backing up just database changes, validate backup integrity, and clean old backups from disk.

“By implementing LiteSpeed‘s Fast Compression, we reduced our client’s nightly backups from an average of 220 GB to just 47 GB,” said Chris Burns, technical director, Data Technology Consultants. “This cut their monthly storage costs by about 75 percent, making LiteSpeed Fast Compression a huge win for our client, and a huge win for us.”
