Ingres Database the Foundation for Preventing European Football Hooliganism

Partners Ingres Corporation and Elegant have worked together to design the Hooligan Tracking System to help the Dutch Police track hooliganism and prevent incidents at football games around Europe. Ingres’ open source database is the foundation holding the records of violent incidents, hooligans’ backgrounds, and trends in behavior, while Elegant provided the modeling tool Elegance which automates data modeling and application generation. The Hooligan Tracking System has become a mission critical tool for making football games safer, and because Ingres Database is open source and stable, the Dutch Police have also seen reduced maintenance costs.
