Open Source Database MongoDB Version 1.6.0 Available

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

The open source database MongoDB introduces new automatic sharing for horizontal scalability and high availability through replica sets with version 1.6.0; allowing users to distribute data across many nodes and enabling auto failover and recovery of nodes within or across data centers.

"With built-in support for horizontal scalability, version 1.6.0 allows our users to build and grow their applications more rapidly," said Dwight Merriman, co-founder and CEO of 10gen. "Deploying with MongoDB reduces time to market and provides flexibility to innovate."
