Amazon Web Services Soon to Launch Oracle Database 11g through Amazon Relational Database Service

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

Amazon Web Services will soon launch Oracle Database 11g through Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS); making Oracle Databases available with flexible pricing, ease of use, and scalability within Amazon RDS and AWS Cloud, potentially in Q2 of 2011. Interestingly, customers with current Oracle licenses will be able to run Oracle databases on Amazon RDS without additional software licensing or support charges. Anyone without an Oracle license can make use of on-demand hourly licensing and no upfront fees or long-term commitments.
