Organizations Lack Urgency to Secure Critical Data

In their 2001 Data Security report, Application Security, Inc. pinpointed that data security and compliance is challenging as budgets are constrained and many organizations lack any urgency to secure critical data. In the report, there existed some critical key findings that included 91% don’t even know the costs associated with data breaches, 48% said human error is a greater challenge, 53% said that budget was the greatest hindrance to security efforts. But probably most shocking is that 33% didn’t even know or lacked an understanding of threats.
