MySQL Inc. announced Monday that its open-source MySQL open-source database has been enhanced with transactional functions that will better position the platform to support e-commerce and similar critical applications.
MySQL now includes InnoDB, an open-source transactional storage engine designed for scalability when processing large volumes of data. InnoDB includes commit, rollback, row-level locking, and crash-recovery capabilities that are standard fare among commercial SQL databases.
