Hard and fast on the inquirer's earlier story that Oracle will support AMD's "Hammer" X86-64 technology, it now appears that German mega-software giant SAP is also porting products for the platform.
And it appears that SuSE, perhaps more famous for its Linux work, but also a close AMD X86-64 teamster, is helping SAP port its R/3 database.
SAP DB already runs on 64-bit Unix operating systems, and it is also porting R/3 for Intel's Itanic IA-64.
