Enhanced MySQL Software for Mac OS X Available from MySQL AB

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From MySQL]

MACWORLD EXPO, SAN FRANCISCO - (January 7, 2003) - Today at Macworld Expo, MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, announced that a MySQL binary installer in ".pkg" format, the standard for software installation on Mac OS X, will be available in February from the official MySQL Web site at www.mysql.com.

"With Apple's embrace of open standards in its UNIX-based Mac OS X platform, interest from the developer community for creating MySQL-based applications for the Mac has never been stronger," said David Axmark, MySQL vice president of open source relations and co-founder. "By making available MySQL .pkg binaries for Mac OS X directly from our site, we're making it even easier for developers to create powerful database applications on Mac OS X."
