REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 5, 2003 – Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of business analytics software, today announced that the latest release of the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform delivers breakthrough load performance for IBM DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Server Edition software. At a time of skyrocketing data volumes, unique data smart parallelism technology enables Informatica PowerCenter 6.2 to accurately insert data into multi-node DB2 Universal Databases 10 to 20 times faster than prior PowerCenter releases while adapting automatically to changing database cluster configurations.

“The new release of Informatica PowerCenter delivered more than an order-of-magnitude boost in throughput when loading our DB2 Universal Database, without necessitating any modifications to our existing data transformation and mapping design,” said Wayne Hickson, senior systems analyst at TELUS Corporation, which beta tested the Informatica data smart parallelism technology. “We believe the combination of PowerCenter and DB2 Universal Database will help us to achieve the level of performance required to meet our most demanding load windows and database operations for years to come.”

In tests at the IBM Solution Partnership Center in San Mateo, California, Informatica data smart parallelism demonstrated the ability to dynamically detect DB2 Universal Database configurations and automatically map data directly to appropriate nodes for superior performance. Dynamic detection of configurations means that as a DB2 Universal Database environment expands, customers don’t have to adjust their business or dataflow logic for optimum database performance — Informatica PowerCenter handles it automatically. Direct mapping of data means that, as data volumes continue to surge, customers can enjoy unprecedented load performance to meet shrinking load windows.
