IBM's Bigger, Better DB2 Database

Enterprises have suffered much in their quest for the elusive "single view of the customer." Combining all sources of customer information into a single repository has proven painful in some instances and disastrous in others.

Analytics has made big waves in the enterprise software world, and the databases that house the information being analyzed are garnering increased attention. IBM's (NYSE: IBM) DB2 is, and has been for many years, a mainstay in the relational-database world. And, according to Jeff Jones, director of strategy for IBM Data Management Solutions, his company wants to keep it that way.
