IDC Releases First Market Sizing and Forecast for Emerging Database Optimization Technologies Software Market

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., June 25, 2003 - According to IDC, the database optimization technologies software market reached $414 million in 2002 and is expected to increase to $950 million by 2007. IDC believes this new breed of technology offers a key solution for some database technology users to achieve their goals affordably, without investing in much more extensive data management environments than needed.

Database optimization technologies enable database users to optimize their access, use, management, and operation of their databases. This market comprises a range of products that provide one or more of these benefits, but each product is typically focused on a small range of capabilities.
