Oracle(r) Database 10g - Announces World's Fastest TPC-C 4CPU Single-System Benchmark Result on HP Integrity Server Running Linux

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sep. 8, 2003 - (http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?2287170) Demonstrating its commitment to providing the most reliable and low-cost computing options to its customers, Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ:ORCL), the world's largest enterprise software company, today announced a new world record 4-processor TPC-C single-system benchmark result running Oracle(r) Database 10g on HP Integrity servers running Linux.

Using an industry-standard HP Integrity rx5670 64-bit server with four Intel(r) Itanium(r) 2 processors at 1.5 GHz, with 6 Mbyte of L3 cache running Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.0, Oracle Database 10g server achieved 136,110.98 tpmC with a price-performance ratio of $4.09/tpmC, marking the fastest ever TPC-C single-system result on Linux and the best price performance for any 4-processor 64-bit server on the market today.
