Mass Partners Turn Out for Oracle Database 10g Beta Program

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From Oracle Corp.]

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sep. 9, 2003 - (http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?2288248) Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ:ORCL), the world's largest enterprise software company, today announced strong participation of independent software vendors, system integrators and hardware vendors in its beta program to thoroughly develop and test joint solutions, based on an early release of Oracle(r) Database 10g (see related press release). More than 200 companies - including 170 Systems, Actuate Corporation, BearingPoint, Bio-Key International, Compuware Corporation, Egenera, NEC, Tomax, Topspin Communications, TUSC, Vertex Inc., and Waters Corporation - are working closely with Oracle to drive the strategic direction of Oracle Database 10g in order to meet customer needs.

"What Oracle is doing with its flagship Oracle Database 10g and grid computing is analogous to the revolution that occurred with the Web browser and the Internet," said Krish Ramakrishnan, chief executive officer at Topspin. "Oracle Database10g will be the killer application that drives the commercialization of grids into the mainstream enterprise."

Hands on experience with Oracle Database 10g enables partners to better address manageability, performance, reliability, security and workloads when developing solutions on all major operating systems. The program participants are previewing new Oracle Database 10g features such as Automatic Storage Management, integrated clusterware and cluster workload management, as well as testing Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g.
