VERITAS Software Enables Utility Computing in SQL Server Environments

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From VERITAS Software Corporation]

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif - October 13, 2003 - VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS), the leading storage software provider, today announced products to enable utility computing in Microsoft SQL Server environments, including the immediate availability of VERITAS i3™ for SQL Server, the latest version of VERITAS' application performance management (APM) software acquired from Precise Software Solutions (see related news release, issued June 30, 2003). APM is a high-growth market that industry analysts predict will grow to $4.92 billion by 2006.

For the first time, VERITAS i3 for SQL Server software enables a SQL Server application manager to monitor a transaction in real-time, from the end-user through the storage array, to optimize the application performance by rapidly detecting, correlating, diagnosing, and enabling correction of application performance problems. VERITAS i3 for SQL Server software supports the most popular business applications that run on top of the SQL Server database, including ERP applications such as the latest versions of SAP and PeopleSoft.
