Oracle cuddles up to Linux

SOFTWARE giant Oracle has revealed aggressive plans to use Linux throughout its organisation and is advising many of its customers to do the same.

The company confirmed it had already moved all its application servers and more than 80 per cent of database servers supporting internal processes to the open source software.

Senior executives have hinted the company is also working to put Linux on all internal desktop machines within the next two years.
