Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition One on HP Integrity Server Running Linux Sets New World Record for Price-Performance

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From Oracle Corp.]

Oracle today announced a world record 2-processor benchmark on Linux that placed Oracle(r) Database 10g Standard Edition One (Oracle Standard Edition One) in the coveted Top Ten TPC-C by Price-Performance category. This record benchmark is the best price-performance ever on a 2-processor system, proving Oracle's ability to deliver exceptional performance and value on low-end servers.

Using an HP Integrity rx2600 server with two Intel(r) Itanium(r) 2 processors at 1.3 GHz each with 3 MB L3 cache running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS3, Oracle Standard Edition One achieved 51,506 tpmC (transactions per minute) with a price-performance ratio of $1.80/tpmC.
