Oracle and HP Set Performance World Record on SAP(r) SD Standard Application Benchmark

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From Oracle Corp.]

Oracle today announced a world record result for the SAP(r) Sales and Distribution (SD) Standard Application Benchmark on HP Integrity servers, demonstrating the companies' ability to deliver high-performance and high-availability for enterprise transaction processing.

This new leading result of 95,400 SAP SD Benchmark users, with an average dialog response time of 1.74 seconds, was achieved using the SAP R/3(r) Enterprise Release 4.7C solution and Oracle(r) Database 10g running the SAP SD workload on an HP Integrity Superdome Enterprise Server with 64 Intel Itanium 2 1.6 GHz processors with HP-UX 11i v21. Oracle Database 10g delivered nearly twice as much performance as the previous best result from IBM DB22 and over three and a half times more performance than the best result from Microsoft SQL Server3.
