By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From Oracle Corp.]

ORACLE(r) OPENWORLD, San Francisco 06-DEC-2004 Oracle today announced Oracle(r) Database 10g Release 2, the latest update to its award-winning database. The new release will include enhanced availability, manageability, performance and security features, among others, to help customers and partners achieve the highest levels of efficiency from their information technology (IT) investments. Oracle Database 10g Release 2 is scheduled to be generally available in mid-2005.

Oracle Database 10g is the first database designed for enterprise grids, delivering the clustering and workload management, high availability and operational automation required to establish enterprise grid computing infrastructures. Oracle Database 10g also offers customers a cost-effective data management solution, reducing the need for additional infrastructure spending, and eliminating many of the traditional, repetitive, manual administrative tasks such as performance tuning, disk and memory management.
