These days InnoDB is the gold standard for storage engines in MySQLboth in terms of performance and durability. InnoDB has been around long enough that we kind of take it for granted. Its been years since arguments like MySQL doesnt even have real transactions! held any water. While Ive written about some of InnoDBs shortcomings, the reality is that it works remarkably well for the vast majority of users. And InnoDBs early design was modeled after Oracle, so its success is hardly shocking.
