MySQL says database is production-ready

MySQL on Tuesday announced that Version 4.0 of the MySQL database is production-ready and supports Intel's Itanium 2 processors on the Linux platform.

The production designation means the database is ready for deployment, the company said. Development releases of the database have been available since October 2001.
