Database Gate 1.8 Scheduled for Release on June 1, 2003
May 30, 2003
Database Gate today announced that version 1.8 of it's SQL editing software will be released on June 1, 2003.
The editor allows you to connect to any database using ODBC, and to write queries, create, alter or drop tables and execute stored procedures. In addition, you have the ability to use transactions such as commit/rollback operation.
The program contains some handy editing functions such as shortcuts, history function, bookmarks, syntax highlighting, schema retrieving, and import/export to name a few. In addition to shortcuts that help minimize the writing of standard SQL statements, there are smart shortcuts. Smart shortcuts write the columns list for the select or insert statement on the selected table. Hot keys can be programmed with custom shortcuts. Syntax highlighting has become a must; the automatic context completion is a bonus for those who prefer shortening their typing time.
With Database Gate, you can export data from a specific table/database and import it into a different database. Exported records can also be in HTML or XML format for easy web publishing. Database Gate supports multiple server connections, including different database systems. Multiply query windows can be opened for every connection. Database Gate is a 32 bit executable for Windows 95/98/ME, 2000 and XP. It requires ODBC 32 bit support installed on the system and the ODBC drivers of your choice. No setup or other DLL/OCX are required and no registry keys are written.
The program is shareware; a limited trial is available for download from the Database Gate website.
