Sybase takes new approach to messaging

Database management and integration vendor Sybase Inc. is taking a new approach to Java Messaging Technology as it targets the financial sector.

Sybase, the Dublin, Calif.-based RDBMS vendor, announced last week that it is working with Tibco Software Inc. to integrate Java Messaging Service technology into its Adaptive Server Enterprise relational database.

The company's approach to messaging is to place the messaging infrastructure in the database. This provides DBAs with an asynchronous relational database that handles messaging separately from other processes, speeding up queries for DBAs.
