Sybase decreases database downtime risk with latest data replication technology

January 29, 2004

[From ITWeb]

Johannesburg, 29 January 2004] - Sybase has released the latest version of Replication Server, 12.6, which enables organisations to reduce the risk of database downtime by setting up redundant standby sites and synchronising data across heterogeneous database platforms.

The enhanced symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) support in Replication Server 12.6 maximises hardware resource utilisation and gives applications with a real-time data requirement the capability to handle high transaction volumes with low latency. It allows organisations to achieve business continuity for "always available" systems, data migration, data and transaction synchronisation between the organisation and mobile user, and data mart and data warehouse population.
