GoldenGate and MySQL have introduced database tiering - a solution that allows you to augment your existing database infrastructure with a low-cost, high performance MySQL server farm. Database transactions are synchronized between the MySQL instances and other production databases in real-time while maintaining transaction integrity, and with support for very high volumes.
