Ambeo 3.1 provides increased visibility and improved auditing of data usage
April 6, 2005
Earlier this week Ambeo announced the release of version 3.1 of the Ambeo Software Suite.
DBMS tools usually concentrate on the internal performance of the DBMS. Ambeo, on the other hand analyzes the database from the user's perspective, offering a comprehensive view of how a business uses its data, tracking database usage and regulatory compliance. This is good news for businesses that must now put a greater effort into protecting their data due to security and compliance issues.
Ambeo provides usage information about users, sessions, queries, tables and columns, making it easier to identify unauthorized access of sensitive information from an internal source as well as perimeter attacks.
Key enhancements have been made to the suites real-time monitoring capabilities and to the reporting capabilities to enhance ability to identiry suspicious database activity.
New reporting features include expanded report templates, enhanced PDF, HTML and graphic formats, improved user control over report layout and content, the ability to schedule usage tracking and regulatory compliance reports and the ability to drill down into the details underlying a data usage report.
The new real-time data auditing and monitoring features include support for more complex filter expressions and performance enhancements that support real-time anomaly-detection against more databases simultaneously.
Database environments supported by Ambeo include Oracle, DB2/UDB, Teradata, Informix, Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ and MS SQL Server.
