GEO Query Example for Radial Searching

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

For SQL 7.0 and above this example code as a stored procedure provides information on how to embed Radial searching into your application. For instance, if you want to query all distributors of a certain widgit within the radius of 15 miles from your house, then you will want to take a look at this. This procedure does not do the GEO Coding but has references to tools that are less expensive than buying GEOAccess or MapQuest services. This SP only shows some formulas for radial searching in a SQL SELECT statement and references to good reading on the subject.
