Xeround announces the addition of auto-scaling functionality to their cloud database for MySQL-based applications. Scaling up or down is provided with no database downtime and is transparent to applications; allowing databases to instantly increase resources when data capacity or throughput reach thresholds that are defined by the user through the Xeround Database manager console. The benefit being that automatic scaling and dynamic allocation of resources offers the ability to bill users based on actual usage and not by a predefined setup.
