CA has sued software developer ISI Software for infringement of copyright over a DB2 migration tool that would migrate clients off of CA’s Datacom database to DB2; claiming that ISI reproduced source and object code, did so without CA authorization, and cost CA licensing fees. Interesting notes on the lawsuit include CA’s issue with various wording within ISS’s website and marketing material, noting that ISS used degrading wording such as “Is your legacy data stuck in CA-Datacom?”, and referring to CA programs as “dying”.
