Obsidian Strategics joins IBM PartnerWorld; bringing Longbow into the picture and possible compatibility and performance testing of IBM DB2 pureScale configurations that will support Longbow. Longbow is a set of products that provide range extension, routing, and encryption; allowing InfiniBand fabric to be extended oer varying distances.

“It is exciting to watch InfiniBand flourish in data center applications, outside the realm of pure supercomputing applications,” said Dr. David Southwell, Obsidian’s CTO. “Obsidian’s entry into IBM’s PartnerWorld program opens the possibility of exploring compatibility and performance testing of DB2 pureScale configurations supporting Longbow-enhanced stretched cluster links over regional and metro area networks.”
