Database Development Becomes Easier with New Release of Oracle’s Berkeley DB

New with this release of the open source embedded database engine, Oracle Berkeley DB, a new SQL API that is based on SQLite can greatly simplify application development. This integration with SQLite means that development tools that would work with SQLite will now also work with Oracle Berkeley DB—enabling easier development, deployment, and management of applications and databases. Also new is additional support for JDBC and ODBC connections and support for the hot Android platform.

Download of the new Berkeley DB 11g Release 2 is to be made available for download this March 31.2010.
