IBM to Boost Analytics Applications and Database Performance with Acquisition of Storage Compression Company

IBM has agreed to acquire Storwize for their compression technology which should provide improved storage and scan capabilities for historical data; translating into better performance of analytical application and databases. Said Brian Truskowski, general manager at IBM, “The technology will help make sense of massive amounts of data in order to provide new services”.
