SQL injection attacks have been around for many years and, I guess, we should breath a sigh or relief that there is a decline in its use. Maybe hackers are just getting tired of exposing vulnerabilities through this method, maybe databases HAVE gotten more secure, or maybe SQL injection has just been around long enough that we know how to detect, prevent, and code around it. What ever the reason there is no time to rest because this little feather in our caps has to give way to the 345% increase in other types of attacks.
