MySQL Gets Another Push Back in the Form of Apache CouchDB

Apache’s CouchDB is not offering version 0.11 as it pushes forward towards a 1.0 release. CouchDB is yet another NoSQL database that is taking advantage of the uncertainty of MySQL and trying to get ahead of the curve—hitting a major milestone this week with their 0.11 release. This 0.11 release is said to be the first release that hasn’t been noted as being alpha or beta and offers new features and performance improvements. Said Damien Katz, creator of CouchDB:

“The 0.11 release is the first release where we’re going into feature freeze, so this is the release where we’ll be interface stable for 1.0, which will follow shortly.”
