New release of Oracle SQL Developer further improves Oracle Database Developer Productivity

Dec 22, 2009

Oracle’s SQL Developer is a fully supported and free tool from Oracle for database development; enabling you to browse objects, run SQL, and create, edit, and debug PL/SQL.

Today, Oracle announced the newest release (2.1) of Oracle SQL Developer that introduces:

  • PL/SQL Unit Testing — enabling developers to build and share unit tests, access prebuilt capabilities for running regression tests, and in general produce higher quality database code.
  • Data Modeler Viewer — enables the browsing of the database schema objects.
  • Many enhancements in response to requests from the Oracle community
  • Migration Workbench support for Teradata and IBM DB2 UDB for Linux, UNIX and Windows. — extends from previously announced support for Sybase ASE R12&15, MSSQL Server 2000&2005, and Microsoft Access
