Oracle Announces MySQL 5.6 Development Milestone Release

Oracle has announced the first MySQL 5.6 development milestone release; focusing on increased performance, scalability, and flexibility which includes an improved optimizer, additonal partitioning options, and enhanced PERFORMANCE_SCHEMA. Additionally, the InnoDB storage enghine was improved as well as enhanced replication.
