Today, Microsoft released a community technology preview (CTP) of service pack 2 (SP2) for SQL Server 2008. This CTP has cumulative updates to SP1, up to update package 8; fixing some issues that were reported by customers as well as tweaks to the SQL Server 2008 R2 utility, support in SQL Server Management Studio fo data-tier application operations, integration of SQL Server 2008 R2 report servers with SharPoint 2007.
