Developed and maintained by the SQLite Consortium, which includes Mozilla, Adobe, and Oracle, the embedded relational SQL database management system, SQLite 3.7.0, now has write-ahead logging instead of a rollback journal. This provides better performance, more concurrency, and more sequential disk I/O operations. This looks like a option as the old rollback-journal is still being used as a default for legacy applications but users are encouraged to upgrade to the new release.
