Software Fixes Oracle Database Problems Through Log Analysis

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From InternetWeek.com]

Lumigent Technologies Inc. recently detailed Log Explorer for Oracle, software that identifies causes of data corruption and is used to recover critical business data by enterprises using Oracle databases. The product complements Lumigent's Log Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server.

Log Explorer is designed to simplify database management and problem solving for users of Oracle's 8i databases. Each time the database is changed, information is captured in a transaction log file. That file, in turn, details the source of the change as well as the previous and new information.

Log Explorer for Oracle 8i on Windows will be available in November, with pricing starting at $1,295 for a single-CPU system and $1,995 for a multiple-CPU system.
