HSQL Database Engine v1.7.1 Released

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

HSQL Database Engine v1.7.1 has been released by SourceForge. HSQLDB is a relational database engine written in Java, with a JDBC driver, that supports a subset of ANSI-92 SQL.

HSQLDB includes Hypersonic SQL and offers a small (about 100k), fast database engine with both in-memory and disk-based tables.

Changes in v1.7.1 include fixes for bugs that were found since 1.7.0 as well as major speed improvements and a much smaller memory footprint.

Additional information and downloads for HSQLDB are available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/hsqldb/.
