IBM today announced two new certification exams for DB2 v8, one a quick upgrade for database administrators already certified on v7, the other an advanced exam. The new certifications are designed to meet the growing demand for DBAs and recognize their expanding roles in complex IT environments.

IBM has altered its certification track so that DBAs can complete v8 testing quickly and less expensively this year than last.
