Pervasive Adds Powerful Search Technology

By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From Pervasive Software]

AUSTIN, TEXAS and ST. GALLEN, SWITZERLAND-July 7, 2003 -- Pervasive Software. Inc. (Nasdaq: PVSW), a leading provider of data-management solutions powering the success of application developers worldwide, today announced it has licensed sophisticated full-text search software that complements its leading Pervasive.SQL(TM) database. The software is expected to be released as a separate Pervasive product later this calendar year, while a component of the technology will be incorporated into Pervasive.SQL as a standard feature.

The technology, built by ABACUS Research A.G., St. Gallen, Switzerland, enables users to perform advanced searches to easily find information even if they do not know the exact search item or where it may be located. It allows partial match, wild card and fuzzy logic searches into application and Web portal data and consistently provides sub-second responses across large databases.
