Versant Includes JDO in Object Database

Versant Corp. is hooking up with SolarMetric Inc. to get JDO (Java Data Objects) technology into its Versant object database, officials announced on Tuesday.

Versant, of Fremont, Calif., will resell SolarMetric's flagship product, Kodo JDO, and will OEM that product in order to deliver JDO functionality. JDO is an industry standard that enables the use of Java to access a variety of data sources--including a wide range of databases--without the need to tweak the underlying data store.
