By DatabaseJournal.com Staff

[From CWD4ALL]

When spatial data is stored in an Oracle database, it is easy to manipulate, retrieve and relate the data to other data stored in the database.

Oracle Spatial functions can be used, for example, to define sales regions by creating a 10 mile buffer around the sales offices or find the intersection between a few sales regions.
