“R users will now be able to process, visualize and model terabyte-class data sets in a fraction of the time of legacy products-without employing expensive or specialized hardware,” says Revolution Analytics of its Revolution R Enterprise software with newly added “Big Data” analysis. The framework for multi-core processing of these big data sets is part of a new add-on package called RevoScaleR. Revolution Analytics belief is that this will take R into being a “production-ready platform for enterprise applications” in many different areas where big data sets are commonly dealt with.
