Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver 1.1 Public Release

The Data Programmability JDBC team has publicly released version 1.1 of the SQL Server 2005 JDBC driver. Available as a download to all SQL Server users, at no additional charge, this type 4 JDBC driver provides access to SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 from any Java application, application server, or Java-enabled applet.

The public release is JDBC 3.0 compliant, runs on JRE 1.4 and later versions and has been tested against all major application servers, including BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, JBoss and Sun. While the driver is designed to work on any operating system that supports JVM, only Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux, and Windows 2000 or later operating systems are officially supported.

Version 1.1 adds client support for the SQL Server 2005 database-mirroring feature and provides a Windows-only integrated authentication feature. In addition, this release includes fixes and change requests to support enterprise customers as they prepare to certify and deploy the driver.

The SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver 1.1 release is only available in English at this time, however, localized versions of the original SQL Server 2005 JDBC 1.0 release are still available, and can be downloaded from this page.
