The open source database MongoDB introduces new automatic sharing for horizontal scalability and high availability through replica sets with version 1.6.0; allowing users to distribute data across many nodes and enabling auto failover and recovery of nodes within or across data centers.

“With built-in support for horizontal scalability, version 1.6.0 allows our users to build and grow their applications more rapidly,” said Dwight Merriman, co-founder and CEO of 10gen. “Deploying with MongoDB reduces time to market and provides flexibility to innovate.”
