These two TSQL scripts provide an excellent tool for shrinking those pesky log files. The stored procedures come with instructions for creating a management database to take care of all your log shrinking needs from one routine runnable as a scheduled job. sp_shrinklog can also be run stand-alone to shrink individual database logs. Tested in SQL 7.0 and should work 100% in 2000 though not in 6.5.
Updated 9/7/01 to add a missing parameter in the help syntax.
Updated 9/20/01 to fix an incorrect error reporting in sp_shrinklog when replcommit option is used.
